Food is an important part of any gathering, but especially at weddings. After the main meal, your guests will be looking for that dessert table. While beautiful, traditional 5-tiered, towering wedding cakes are definitely still a favorite among couples, we've been seeing a shift over the last few years into stunning dessert tables. One of my favorites is the pie tables. Pies are amazing because you can capture of variety of flavor to please your guests. Some of my favorites are caramel apple, triple berry, and chocolate! Throw a couple of can of whip cream on the table and you are all set. Hand pies are also low-key the best! No mess since there's no cutting. Your guests can just grab, go, and enjoy! Taking a cue from the growing trend of dessert tables at weddings, another delightful option gaining popularity is the donut wall. Picture this: a vibrant display of assorted donuts arranged artfully on a wall, creating a whimsical and interactive treat station. From classic glazed to decadent filled varieties, there's something to satisfy every sweet tooth. Guests can simply pluck their favorite donut off the wall, adding a fun and modern twist to the traditional dessert spread. Plus, the visual appeal of a donut wall adds a touch of whimsy and charm to your wedding celebration that your guests are sure to remember. A dessert food truck, like Sweet Whimsies, is the perfect solution when he likes a turtle sundae, and she wants chocolate cake. Sweet Whimsies makes custom, from scratch desserts to satisfy any sweet tooth. My personal favorite is their cheesecake with berry sauce and a side of vanilla ice cream. They also make a killer coffee with a scoop of ice cream topped with fudge and caramel. Guests have never been disappointed with this dessert choice. ![]() I know we talked about cheesecake above but get ready for some more! One of the best things to pop up in our area is a locally owned cheesecake shop that specializes in custom cheesecake flavors and weddings! While they offer whole cheesecakes, cheesecake bites have been a fan favorite for wedding couples. Korrielinn's Cheesecakes make bites in any flavor you can image- again giving your guests a wide variety to please their palate. Most of our couples will select 8-12 different flavor for their dessert tables. My personal favorites are the triple berry white chocolate, birthday cake, and apple pie cheesecakes. No matter the dessert you choose, make your wedding day your own. Some couples aren't into traditional wedding cakes or don't want a cake to cut at all, so don't be afraid to be different. Guests just want something to eat after dinner and they are LOVING these new trends of goodness. We are dedicated to using our platform to support locally owned wedding venues. In every blog we write, we will include 5 to 10 locally owned wedding venues who use their articles to support their colleagues and the wedding industry in ways that are not always recognized but are essential.
